Splinter-free sawing in furniture construction

New scoring saw blade for the TSV 60 K from Festool

The new TSV 60 K makes it possible to achieve workshop-quality results on the construction site. In future, the precision champion will also make sawing of laminated chipboard in applications from furniture construction to kitchen fitting more precise and efficient: The new WOOD FINE CUT SPECIAL diamond scoring saw blade with two teeth, which boasts a long service life, higher feed speeds and perfect cut quality, is now available for the TSV 60 K.
The new T2 diamond scoring saw blade was specially developed for machining laminated chipboard in furniture construction. "We continually develop our products and matching accessories further in close cooperation with our tradespeople. They had expressed a need for a product that would more reliably enable splinter-free sawing in different or varying chipboard qualities with higher feed speeds. We developed the new T2 diamond saw blade especially for this requirement. With this saw blade, chipboard of all qualities can be sawed neatly and without splinters," explains Boris Seyfried, Product Manager for Sawing at Festool. "We can achieve a higher cutting performance while maintaining an outstanding cut quality with this. The new scoring saw blade delivers a consistently high cut quality, even at higher feed speeds."

Optimally coordinated system components minimise wear and enable a long service life for all components. This is compounded by the perfect interaction of the TSV 60 K and the Festool guide rail with the diamond saw blade – for an accurate, splinter-free cut. The compact, sophisticated design of the TSV 60 K means the saw can be set down on its side, which simplifies changing of the saw blade. An additional spindle stop for the scoring saw blade also makes it extremely easy to change the saw blade. Perfect cut quality and convenient saw blade changes therefore go hand in hand.

How does the saw blade work in detail?

The diamond scoring saw blade scores the top layer of the material*, ensuring a splinter-free cut on both sides. It is therefore perfectly tailored to laminated or veneered chipboards. Two diamond teeth enable splinter-free cuts, even in hard-to-machine materials. The use of diamond cutting teeth enables an extremely long service life. The conical tooth shape makes it easy to adjust the scoring width to the saw cut. As such, splinter-free cuts can be achieved on both sides, especially with veneered and laminated chipboards.
