The leading original model for precise results – now refined even more
Many new solutions for guide systems and workplace organisation

Who invented it? Festool! Almost 60 years ago, Festool invented the first guide rail and has been perfecting it ever since. The original model with new design and intelligent details will be available from October. The result: Straight and precise cuts – not just for carrying out horizontal work, but also now on walls. As usual with Festool, new, versatile detailed solutions with intelligent and practical accessories are available for the launch of the new FS-/2-KP guide rail.

The original guide rail has been known for its splinter-free cut for decades. A rubber lip positioned directly on the scribe mark prevents the edges from splintering – even with angled cuts. A slideway lining ensures that the machine slides easily on the guide rail. An adhesive cushion strip on the underside of the guide rail protects the surface of the workpiece to be processed.

Straight and precise cuts – in any position

The new FS/2-KP guide rail not only allows users to make straight and precise cuts when carrying out horizontal work on floors or work surfaces, but also for applications on walls in future too. Thanks to the adhesive pads, the new guide rail can be securely attached – without slipping. To facilitate this, Festool has added cut-outs in the new guide rails into which the adhesive pads can be easily inserted. All that is left to do is align the guide rail as required, press on the adhesive pads – and it's already secured for sawing. The adhesive pads ensure that the guide rail is held securely and sawing is precise, even in difficult positions. Afterwards, the adhesive pads are easy to remove, even from delicate surfaces, without leaving unwanted residues and without damaging the workpiece.

Easy, practical transport

Festool has also come up with a new feature for practical transport: Thanks to the slot in the middle, the guide rail can be placed effortlessly over the carrying handle of all Systainers so you can carry them together. This solution makes it easy and practical to transport up to two guide rails.

Self-aligning: Quickly and conveniently connecting guide rails together so they are straight

With the new connecting pieces, guide rails can be connected so that they are straight and stable – which is the case for all Festool guide rails. In this way, precise cuts – even with long workpieces – are possible over the entire length of two or more connected guide rails. A laser engraving helps to ensure that the two connecting pieces are inserted in the correct order. The self-aligning function creates a straight connection and precise results.

Precise angled cuts from -60° to +60°

With the launch of the new guide rails, Festool has also designed a new angle stop for quick and precisely guided angled cuts, so that angles of -60° to +60° can be set with repeat accuracy and high precision. This means that the angle stop offers a wide range of applications and full flexibility. Thanks to the quick-clamping lever, the angle stop can be intuitively attached to the guide rail in just a couple of movements. In conjunction with a portable circular saw a saw table and work bench, this even turns into a mobile panel saw. In addition, the angle stop has been designed to include a long contact edge and viewing window so that it can be quickly and easily aligned to the workpiece edge. Additional positioning bolts create a safe storage area, including for materials with a rounded workpiece edge. All of the controls can be intuitively operated from above without the need for tools.

New guide rail accessories

SYSTAINER For clearly organised storage, Festool offers a new guide rail accessories SYSTAINER, in which the new FS-WA angle stop, two new FSV/2 connecting pieces, the new FS/2-AW deflector , two fastening clamps, a kickback stop and a combination hex key are stowed in the new Systainer³. Quickly positioned and firmly secured For the area of workplace organisation, Festool is bringing out a new MFT lever clamp from October, which enables workpieces to be held securely without slipping. The fact that it is compatible with the MFT hole pattern means that it is easy to attach it to a multifunction table (MFT) or the mobile workshop. The clamp lever makes it quick and convenient to clamp and release workpieces using only one hand. In this way, it is possible to secure the guide rails as well as a variety of materials up to a height of 80 millimetres. Even round and flat workpieces can be securely clamped on the MFT or MW 1000 mobile workshop thanks to the vertical fixing system.

The whole new accessory is compatible with all Festool FS/2 guide rails. The new FS/2-KP guide rails with adhesive pads are available in the lengths of 1400 and 1900 mm. The guide rails and the new angle stop, new connecting pieces, new guide rail accessories SYSTAINER and new MFT lever clamps will be available from October 2021 from specialist retailers.
