Many risks lie in wait during daily work on the construction site and in the workshop. In order to counter this, the German manufacturer Festool develops intelligent functions for tools in order to reduce these risks. One such function is the new KickbackStop, which finally puts an end to dangerous kickbacks. Festool has significantly improved the new generation of the TSC 55 K cordless plunge-cut saws and has added the KickbackStop technology to these.

The premium brand Festool is renowned for offering tools for safe and healthy work and for continuously developing such tools. This is also true for the new TSC 55 K cordless plunge-cut saw and for the new QUADRIVE TPC 18/4 cordless percussion drill and TDC 18/4 cordless drill with the intelligent KickbackStop, which stops the motor within a split second. This is extremely practical for tradespeople as it reduces their risk of injury to a minimum.

KickbackStop on the TSC 55 K cordless plunge-cut saw
"Dangerous kickbacks will be a thing of the past with our new cordless plunge-cut saw, as we have made it even safer with the new unique KickbackStop", explains Boris Seyfried – product manager at Festool. In one's working life, often even just a millisecond is crucial: Kickback is the most common cause of serious injuries when using a plunge-cut saw. "Safety is a very important topic for us. Should kickback occur when sawing and plunging into the workpiece, our unique KickbackStop technology ensures that the saw blade in our cordless plunge-cut saw stops in the blink of an eye. This is how it looks in detail: The feeler wedge of the KickbackStop rests on the guide rail or on the material that is to be processed. If a kickback occurs when plunging into the workpiece or when sawing, this is immediately detected by the feeler wedge and emergency braking is triggered. The backwards movement of the plunge-cut saw in the direction of the user is stopped and the risk of injury is therefore minimised," describes Boris Seyfried.

The new TSC 55 K circular saws are available from specialist retailers from April 2021. You can find additional information and animated videos at www.festool.co.uk/kickbackstop
