Four speeds, pure power, no compromises

Taking drilling and screwdriving to a new dimension: Festool presents two new flagship cordless drills

The two new flagship cordless drills from Festool are replacing their successful QUADRIVE PDC and DRC 18/4 predecessor versions, and go by the names of QUADRIVE TPC and TDC 18/4. Both of these new products are powerful, versatile and, with four speeds, perfectly equipped to take on any application. Their sophisticated switching concept provides the right torque and speed for any application.

Whether you are working on wood or metal: The new QUADRIVE TDC 18/4 cordless drill is extremely durable and, thanks to its brushless EC-TEC motor, promises extreme resilience and endurance alike. The new QUADRIVE TPC 18/4 percussion drill is just as powerful and versatile, and even impresses when drilling into masonry thanks to the axial impact feature that can be switched on. Both powerhouses can be combined with a large number of practical attachments – the perfectly matched accessories make them unrivalled first-class drills for a wide range of possible uses. What about your hand twisting dangerously if the tool suddenly jams? Don't worry – the intelligent new kickback stop minimises the risk of this happening.

Four speeds, full power

The robust four-speed metal gearbox meets every need and impresses with its enormous power and high speeds. It can handle even the greatest of loads without any issues. Clever: The fully optimised switching concept allows users to quickly switch in any direction as required. This makes it possible to switch from any gear straight to any other on the new TPC and TDC, without intermediate stages. This saves time and is a clever addition to the already ergonomic handling. Fixed stops enable clear engaging when switching, so that fast downshifting is possible at any time as required. Added comfort is provided in poor lighting conditions as the work area is optimally lit by LED lighting that can be switched on.

Gearbox and motor set the benchmark

The new-generation extremely powerful, brushless and therefore longlasting EC-TEC motor ensures maximum performance on both cordless drills. It impresses with even more torque and speed under load and – like all brushless motors from Festool – was developed entirely by Festool and produced in the company's in-house motor production facilities in Germany. It provides the requisite power for all work with screws and drills with larger diameters while enabling clean work progress when working with small drill diameters. The EC-TEC motor without carbon brushes is wear-free and converts the energy from the battery into optimum power with virtually no losses. The digital motor management also guarantees maximum service life: Microprocessors monitor and control the temperature, voltage and current consumption of the motor, electronics and battery. Together with the extremely robust metal gearbox, the needs of every work situation are met. From screwdriving with up to 75 Nm torque in first gear to precise drilling at 3600 rpm in fourth gear, the new TPC impresses with its intelligent use of power and precision. It drills through masonry with ease thanks to the axial impact feature that can be switched on (on the TPC only). In second gear, the new powerhouses provide a whole 40% more torque compared to their previous PDC and DRC models, achieving full traction even with 8 mm screws.

Flexible battery system for intelligent power

For applications with high power needs, the 4.0 Ah Li-HighPower Compact battery pack provides the ideal powerful, compact and lightweight solution. The 5.2 Ah battery pack is the right choice for even more power and a longer operating period for particularly difficult drilling and screwdriving applications.

Versatile first-class model

The large number of attachments, combined with perfectly matched accessories, make both the TPC and the TDC the most versatile cordless drills and they are unrivalled in their class. The smart FastFix interface allows the attachments to be changed quickly and without the need for any tools – for flexible drilling, screwdriving, angular drilling and angular screwdriving. The depth stop and eccentric adapter also enable depth-limited screwdriving close to edges. The quick angle adjustment is available for both the new angle attachment (AN-UNI) and the eccentric adapter (EX-UNI) and is completed in next to no time simply by rotating the green ring. The attachment no longer needs to be released from the machine.

Compact with extra safety

Thanks to its excellent handle ergonomics and short design, both new products fit perfectly in your hand even when they are bursting with power. And if any hazards arise when screwdriving: The electronic kickback stop minimises the risk of you twisting your wrist if the drill suddenly jams. The optimised torque adjustment prevents accidental adjustment. This is supplemented by other comfort features like the robust belt clip that can be attached on both sides or the bit holder for secure and magnetic bit storage at the side of the drill.

Practical additional functions with the Work App

When combined with the free-of-charge Work App (iOS and Android) and a Bluetooth® battery pack, the two cordless drills offer many practical additional functions. For example, you can set the brightness and lighting duration of the LED lighting. Another practical feature: For left-handed people, the Work App can be used to reverse the right-hand/left-hand selector switch such that the switch now protrudes on the right-hand side of the manage in clockwise rotation and therefore no longer presses into a lefthanded user's hand. Software updates can also be performed or repair orders can be created for servicing (depending on availability in the country) and many other functions can be used. The IoT functionality (righthand/ left-hand selector switch and LED control) will be available with the latest version of the Work App in the second quarter of 2021.

Unbeatable duo

The new TPC and the new TDC are both essential aids on construction sites. Regardless of whether you are sawing or screwdriving, they form an unbeatable duo in all work situations together with the TSC 55, which is also a new addition.

The new QUADRIVE TPC 18/4 and the QUADRIVE TDC 18/4 will be available from specialist retailers from Februar 2022 – new auger bits for both of these new products will be available from spring.
