The new FS 2.0 guide rail

The leading original further perfected

Many new solutions for guide systems and workplace organisation

Since its invention nearly 60 years ago, Festool has continuously perfected the guide rail. The original model with new design and intelligent details will be available with immediate effect. The result: Straight and precise cuts – not just for carrying out horizontal work, but also now for vertical cuts on walls. In addition to the new FS-/2-KP guide rail, there are varied detailed solutions as well as intelligent and practical accessory parts.
The original guide rail has been known and popular for its splinter-free cut for decades. The new guide rail continues the quality of the previous generations and simultaneously makes a splash with innovative new features. A rubber lip positioned directly on the scribe mark thus prevents the edges from splintering – even with angled cuts. A slideway lining also ensures that the machine slides easily on the guide rail. An adhesive cushion strip on the underside of the guide rail protects the surface of the workpiece to be processed.

Straight and precise cuts – in any position

The new FS/2-KP guide rail not only allows users to make straight and precise cuts when carrying out horizontal work on floors or work surfaces, but also for vertical applications on walls in future too. Thanks to adhesive pads and recesses designed for this, the new guide rail can be securely attached without slipping. Simply by pressing them down after aligning the guide rail, the adhesive pads ensure that the guide rail is held securely and sawing is precise, even in difficult positions. Then the adhesive pads are easy to remove, even from delicate surfaces, without leaving unwanted residues and without damaging the workpiece.

Easy, practical transport

Festool has also come up with a new feature for transport. Through a corresponding recess, up to two guide rails can be inserted and carried without a problem over the carrying handle of all Systainers.

Self-aligning: Connecting guide rails together so they are straight

The new connectors with a self-aligning function enable the straight and reliable coupling of all Festool guide rails. In this way, precise cuts are possible even with long workpieces over the entire length of two or more connected guide rails. A laser engraving helps to ensure that the two connecting pieces are inserted in the correct order.

Precise angled cuts from -60° to +60°

With the launch of the new guide rails, Festool has designed an angle stop for quick and precisely guided angled cuts. This means that angles of -60° to +60° can be set with repeat accuracy and high precision. Using a quick-change lever, the angle stop can be attached to the guide rail in an instant and, in combination with a portable circular saw, saw table and work bench, forms a mobile panel saw. In addition, the angle stop has been designed to include a long contact edge and viewing window so that it can be quickly and easily aligned to the workpiece edge. Additional positioning bolts create a safe storage area, including for materials with a rounded workpiece edge. All of the controls can be intuitively operated from above without the need for tools.

New guide rail accessory SYSTAINER

For clearly organised storage, Festool offers a new guide rail accessory Systainer, in which the new FS-WA angle stop, two new FSV/2 connecting pieces, the new FS/2-AW deflector, two fastening clamps, a kickback stop and a combination hex key are stowed.

Quickly positioned and firmly secured

Workplace organisation is improved by a new MFT lever clamp, which allows workpieces a secure hold without slipping. The fact that it is compatible with the MFT hole pattern means that it is easy to attach it to a multifunction table (MFT) or in the "mobile workshop" using the clamp lever. In this way, it is possible to secure the guide rails as well as a variety of materials up to a height of 80 millimetres. Even round and flat workpieces can be securely clamped on the MFT or MW 1000 mobile workshop thanks to the vertical fixing system.
