Festool lights up the darkness

An overview of Festool's versatile lighting range

Even during the darkest time of year, Festool's lighting range ensures excellent illumination on construction sites, providing the best conditions for perfect working results and high surface quality. Whatever the application area, the Wendlingen premium manufacturer has the perfect light to hand.

"Despite poor light conditions during this dark time of year, most workshops rely on cheap halogen lamps for their lighting. The result is often poorer quality work and reduced efficiency at the same time," says Tobias Beisbarth, product manager for lighting at Festool. The yellowish colour of the cheaper halogen lights is primarily to blame for this lighting dilemma, since it often illuminates edge areas insufficiently. These lights are also prone to failure because the extremely hot filaments break easily. On the other hand, conventional LED lights only illuminate narrow areas because of their limited beam angle. "At the same time, customer demands are increasing with respect to the quality and efficiency of the work. A great deal of work such as interior finishing, staircase fitting and shop fitting through to roof insulation, drywalling and ground work, right up to painting and heating construction can no longer be managed without high-quality light sources," Beisbarth continues. The good news: Festool lights up the darkness and has the correct lighting solution to hand for every application with its comprehensive lighting range.

Perfect surface inspection: The STL 450 surface control light

The newest addition to the construction site illumination family is the new SYSLITE STL 450 surface control light. This light is a real specialist for effective quality inspection of all surfaces. It brings to light details which would be difficult or downright impossible to detect in normal lighting conditions. It reveals imperfections just as completely as irregularities in filler sanding or errors in finish grinding on particularly high-quality surfaces. The innovative surface control light can similarly be used specifically for the surfaces of walls and ceilings. The STL 450 proves to be a real "magic wand" for smooth plaster in particular. The design of the new surface control light is based on that of an electric torch: The LEDs fitted inside it focus the light to form a narrow, but extremely strong, beam of light. The structure is similar to that of a scanner, which can be used to scan entire walls, piece by piece, in order to identify even the most minute defects. This means the surface control light proves to be a valuable helper even as early as the order acquisition stage, where it can be used to point out to the customer the surface imperfections, and their later removal, from the start. The installed LEDs ensure high luminosity as well as a long service life. Thanks to its all-round edge protection and splash-proof housing, the new control light is ideally equipped for harsh everyday use on construction sites. The surface control light makes the everyday work of painters and dry mortarless construction workers in particular much easier and even more efficient. Its compact design makes it ideal for inspecting quality both during and after work – but also in the early stages when only the surface has been filled in. The on/off switch in the centre means that using the surface control light could not be easier. Thanks to the integrated cable lock, the light is quickly and easily stowed in the carrying bag after use.

At daylight level: SYSLITE Duo
The immense illumination power of the SYSLITE DUO working light enables precise working, such as when creating surfaces that are free of streaks and true to colour. This means that even dark corners, cellars, roof conversions or floor areas that are difficult to see into can be worked on quickly and with little effort. The technical data is certainly impressive : Compared with conventional LED lights, this working light features an angled LED configuration which enables 180° illumination. With 80 LEDs and 8000 lumen, the working light comes very close to replicating daylight with its extremely intense luminosity. With 5000 kelvin, the colour of the SYSLITE DUO's light resembles daylight and provides the construction site with optimal spatial illumination. TPE impact protection and a polycarbonate clear cover prevent damage being caused by falls, dust and dirt. Large heat sinks ensure that the working light is sufficiently cooled and simultaneously reduce the risk of fire. Transporting the light is made easy by a robust one-hand grip and integrated cord holder.

Compact light form: SYSLITE KAL II
Festool also relies on the system concept in its successful SYSLITE II working light. A magnetic foot with spherical head (optional) and an orifice for fastening clamps enables it to be used for even more diverse and varied applications. With a retention force of up to 18 kg, the magnetic foot adheres to all steel sub-surfaces. The SYSLITE KAL II is equipped with 12 high-performance LEDs, allowing it to reach a light output of 770 lumen. It also reaches a scattering angle of 170°. The SYSLITE KAL II provides homogeneous, two-dimensional illumination and makes work, particularly in dark corners, more pleasant and precise. Different ways of setting the SYSLITE KAL II up make it very flexible in terms of where you can put it and its scattering angle. Diverse operation and loading options enable an unbeatable readiness for use: Internal battery, external battery, 230 V charger adapter or 12–18 V car charger adapter. The internal battery also makes the user independent from plug sockets and cable drums so they can make more productive use of their time. All Festool 12–18 V battery packs can be connected to the battery interface. The heat-insulated handle offers protection against heat. The new working light is also particularly robust and long-lasting thanks to its shatterproof, impact- and shock-resistant die-cast aluminium housing. And thanks to the rubberised elements, there are no signs of abrasion on sensitive surfaces.

Handy helper: SYSLITE Uni
The handy SYSLITE UNI completes the lighting range and is always ready to light up dark corners. Its three powerful, energy-efficient, high-performance LEDs and lightweight and compact design make it a welcome working aid. It is compatible with all standard Festool battery packs. Three powerful, energy-efficient, high-performance LEDs ensure precise working thanks to the far-reaching and homogeneous illumination of small to medium-sized surfaces. It can be adjusted vertically by 135° in nine increments so that every dark corner can be illuminated. With a belt clip and frame hook, it can be attached anywhere in a variety of ways. For ultimate practicality, all standard Festool battery packs can be connected quickly and easily.
