Festool featuring Laura Kampf

Blueprint Special No.1: DIY SOFA BED - stylish meets practical

Comfortable, flexible and at the same time with a lot of smartly used storage space - that's how maker Laura Kampf describes the perfect sofa bed. With a lot of creative energy and the usual skill she fulfills this wish and of course the right tools must not be missing. This time, the Festool TSC 55 plunge saw, the OF 1010 router and the TID 18 cordless screwdriver are among the tools on hand.
But how do you turn a simple piece of plywood into a versatile sofa bed that can be transformed from a comfortable sofa into an equally comfortable bed in just a few seconds? The answer to this question is provided by our construction plan, which we developed together with Laura and which you can download here for free. In addition to the blueprint, you'll need the following tool lineup: Plunge saw, jigsaw, router, cordless screwdriver, edge router and a sander.

"Seeing someone who really pulls something off and has fun with it and doesn't stop being creative and implementing and building things is what inspires me the most. Having a good idea is one thing, but implementing something is quite another."

The project is worth looking forward to, because the result is definitely something to be proud of. And Laura herself is not the only one who is thrilled with the sofa bed - the DIY SOFA BED has also become one of his favorite pieces of furniture for dog Smudo, and is in high demand not only for the dog's afternoon nap. In addition to the construction plan, you can marvel at the complete path from the plywood to the finished piece of furniture, as always, on Laura's YouTube channel. We wish you a lot of fun while building!
